Over a
period of more than ten years, I have run workshops and
training events on issues such as:
"Life Story Work with Disabled Children"
"The
Children Act 1989 and its implication for practitioners"
"Community Care: Legislation - fact and practice"
"Remedy and redress for children living away from home"
"Social Work Assessment – what really counts?"
I I have
undertaken training sessions for a wide variety of
organisations including
Barnardos, The Family Fund, BAAF, the NSPCC, and
regional parental groups in
the Midlands and the North
West of England respectively. I typically give
seminars at "Kidz up North", an annual event
held in Bolton for
parents and professionals.
My November 2007 seminar at that event
concerned "Making
the most of Complaints Procedures".
I am very happy to
discuss discrete training needs with local authorities
and voluntary organisations.
As in
my professional practice, my training programmes are
typically designed
with
"problem-solving" in mind. I tailor-design
materials, and can produce detailed
workshop notes and handouts in conjunction with any
session.
